The 6SL3520-1XN00-3AA0 is the absolute entry point to the G115D modular platform: 0.37 kW, basic I/O, no fieldbus. At 1.3 A rated (2.6 A peak), it serves the lightest motorized roller or positioning stop in a distributed conveyor system — applications where even 0.55 kW would be overspecified. The modular electronics platform is identical to the one in a 3 kW 1XN drive: same form factor, same 15-minute swap procedure, same IP65/IP66 integrity during replacement. Choosing Base I/O at the lowest power rating simply removes the communication hardware cost from a drive that, in many systems, only needs to run forward when told.
Does the 0.37 kW Base I/O variant miss out on the modular platform's key advantage?
No. The field-replaceable electronics module — the defining feature of the 1XN platform — is present on every suffix variant including the AA0 Base I/O. The control unit is the same physical module across AA0, AB0, and AF0; only the I/O population on the board differs. A technician replacing a failed Base I/O drive follows the same 15-minute procedure: unclip the old module, clip in the new one, parameters auto-load from the memory card. The IP65/IP66 enclosure seal is never disturbed.
