By eliminating the piping between pump and flow meter, the DCD minimizes dead volume, accelerates flushing between batches, and delivers immediate flow measurement with minimal pressure loss. A PLC reads the flow meter pulse output (~26,500 pulses/L) and adjusts pump speed in closed loop to maintain target dispense volume.

How does closed-loop control improve dosing accuracy?

The integrated flow meter continuously reports actual flow rate to the PLC, which compares it against the target dispense profile and corrects pump speed in real time. This compensates for viscosity changes due to temperature, batch variation, or material ageing — maintaining ±0.5% accuracy across the full 0.005–2 L/min range without manual recalibration. The pump and flow meter are supplied by a single manufacturer, simplifying service and spare parts management.

What materials and configurations are available?

Eight displacement options from 0.6 to 10.0 cc/rev cover a wide dosing envelope. The standard construction uses hardened stainless steel for compatibility with abrasive and corrosive fluids across a 1 to 10⁶ mPa·s viscosity range. An ATEX version is available for hazardous-area installations. Standard rotation direction can be specified as clockwise (A), counter-clockwise (Z), or both (AZ).
