The MS-2 is a two-zone conventional fire alarm control panel from Fire-Lite Alarms, a Honeywell company. Designed for small to medium-sized commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, it supports both 2-wire and 4-wire conventional smoke detectors, manual pull stations, and waterflow switches on two Class B initiating device circuits, with one 2.5A notification appliance circuit for horns and strobes.

What detector features does it support?

The MS-2 is compatible with System Sensor i³ series intelligent smoke detectors with drift compensation — automatically adjusting sensitivity as dust accumulates to reduce nuisance alarms. Zone-level maintenance LEDs indicate when a detector requires cleaning per NFPA 72 requirements, while a freeze warning supervisory LED triggers when a detector senses near-freezing temperatures.

How does the notification circuit work?

The single NAC output delivers up to 2.5A at 24VDC and includes built-in synchronization for System Sensor, Wheelock, and Gentex horn/strobe devices. The circuit is programmable for silence inhibit, auto-silence, temporal or steady signal patterns, and selectable silenceable or non-silenceable operation — allowing strobes to continue flashing while horns are silenced during alarm verification.

What approvals does it carry and is it still available?

The MS-2 is UL Listed (S624), MEA Approved (297-01-E), and CSFM Listed (7165-0075:200). Note: Honeywell has discontinued the MS-2. Product support remains available for existing installations; contact Fire-Lite Alarms or an authorized distributor for replacement panel recommendations.
