How does the base load changeover logic work?

The GLW 4 designates one compressor as base load (optionally excluded from rotation) and the remaining units as peak load with cycled changeover. The load changeover interval is adjustable from 0 to 999.9 hours per compressor — when the interval expires, the controller swaps the base load assignment to the next available unit with the lowest hours. A ball valve control mode uses the 4th relay to manage up to 3 compressors via a single pressure-regulated ball valve. Remote release (night shutdown) and timer override inputs allow external system integration.

What pressure sensing and control options are available?

An internal 0–16 bar pressure transducer with quick-connect fitting for 6×1 mm pneumatic tubing provides the primary pressure signal at ±2% full-scale accuracy (max permissible 25 bar). Alternatively, an external 4–20 mA 2-wire transducer can be connected, with 18–21 VDC loop power supplied by the GLW 4. Cut-in and cut-out pressure setpoints are independently programmable per profile, with configurable alarm pressure and delay time triggering the dedicated alarm relay.

How are the timer profiles and compressor monitoring configured?

Up to 6 password-protected timer profiles define operating schedules — each profile assigns start/stop times per day of the week, enabling automatic weekday/weekend pressure strategies. The 3-button graphical LCD simplifies parameter entry; factory defaults allow immediate operation. Four digital inputs accept signals from compressor hour meters, fault contacts, or switching cycle counters, giving the GLW 4 visibility into individual unit health. A V.24/COM interface is present for future PC connectivity (not active in V1.01 firmware).
