The CENTROR-M is an optical registration positioning system by DeCoSystem for industrial container printing and decoration lines. A 1280 × 1024 graylevel matrix camera captures the top or bottom surface of each bottle, jar, or mascara container as it enters the print station, identifies its angular orientation, and feeds correction data to the printing machine — all within a 20 ms acquisition window. Objects from 13 to 90 mm in diameter are positioned with ±1° angular accuracy, ensuring each screen-printed or digitally printed decoration lands exactly on the intended area.

How does the CENTROR-M differ from the CENTROR-L and CENTROR-360?

The three CENTROR variants address different container geometries. The CENTROR-M inspects top and bottom surfaces — suited for flat or slightly curved items such as jar lids, bottle caps, mascara containers, coins, and CDs. The CENTROR-L analyzes sidewall surfaces of cylindrical objects with finer angular accuracy (±0.03°) but slower acquisition (200 ms). The CENTROR-360 handles in-axis items with depth, positioning along the object's longitudinal axis. The M-model prioritises acquisition speed — at 20 ms, it keeps pace with the fastest container printing lines, trading angular precision for throughput.

What lighting and setup does the CENTROR-M require?

DeCoSystem configures each CENTROR-M with application-specific illumination — LED back light, direct light, or dark field — selected based on the container material (glass, plastic) and surface finish. The HMI is designed for rapid setup by line operators rather than vision engineers: a new container format can be taught in minutes. The system integrates inside existing printing equipment or assembly stations and communicates angular position data to the print controller in real time.
