The SMART 200 TSS is BTSR's control terminal for real-time yarn tension monitoring and quality control across multiple textile processing stations. Paired with TS55 digital DSP sensors, it measures tension at a low 15° angle for high accuracy without altering yarn characteristics during winding, doubling, copsing, and texturing.

How does the sensor architecture work?

Each TS55 sensor uses a digital signal processor with an integrated loading cell to measure yarn tension. The SMART 200 TSS terminal can address up to 200 sensors when powered through multiple PSU 10A power supply units. A single sensor can monitor multiple yarns, and the ultra-compact 50 × 25 × 12.5 mm form factor allows sensors to be placed side by side for high-density setups.

What quality parameters are programmable?

The system tracks six programmable thresholds per article: nominal reference tension (TENS), high and low tension limits (TENS H / TENS L), peak tension detection (PEAK H / PEAK L), and missing yarn detection (NO YARN). Two operating modes—CONTROL (latched stop on fault) and MONITOR (auto-resume)—let the user choose between strict quality enforcement and continuous monitoring.

How does the operator interact with the terminal?

A 5-button membrane keypad with integrated red LED indicators and an 80 × 40 mm graphic LCD provide the operator interface. The display visualises tension for up to 16 sensors simultaneously. Up to 40 articles can be stored in the terminal's database, each with independent parameter sets. The "Touch Light" optical key enables fast, precise tactile operation during setup.
