The SR is S2Tech's single-rope load weighing sensor for overload detection and control in traction elevators and lifting systems. It is installed directly on each suspension rope, measuring load per rope to detect overweight conditions before the elevator operates.

How is it installed?

The SR sensor clamps onto individual ropes from 6 to 16 mm in diameter — already tensioned, without requiring special tools. It occupies only 10 cm of vertical rope space, making it suitable for modern machine-room-less (MRL) installations where cabin frame anti-overload systems are impractical. All contact surfaces feature high-radius rounded edges to protect the rope from damage. A special version is available for flat belts used in modern hoisting systems.

How is it calibrated?

Each SR sensor is pre-calibrated in S2Tech's laboratory. Installation uses a weightless AUTO calibration procedure — no known reference weights are needed. The sensor simply requires mechanical stabilization on the rope before running the auto-calibration routine, simplifying field setup.

How does it integrate with the elevator control system?

The SR connects via a Minifit connector (3 m or 5 m standard cable lengths) to the 699Plus digital display unit, which supports up to 8 SR sensors for full rope coverage. The 699Plus provides threshold alarms and relay outputs for integration with the elevator safety chain. The sensor body is machined from high-resistance stainless steel for long-term durability in elevator shafts.
