The PCU-4 is a portable control unit that bridges a Windows PC to the AISG (Antenna Interface Standards Group) bus of cellular base station antennas. Field technicians use it to commission, configure, and troubleshoot RET antennas and tower-mounted amplifiers (TMAs) without accessing the base station's main controller. The complete PCU-KIT-4 includes the control unit, USB data cable, 3-metre AISG cable, 24 VDC power adapter, and a padded transit bag.

How does the PCU-4 connect and operate?

The PCU-4 connects to a laptop via USB (series B receptacle) and to the antenna system via an 8-pin circular AISG connector conforming to IEC 60130-9. The unit outputs +24 VDC continuously on Pin 6 to power connected RET actuators, and +12 VDC on Pin 1 under software control for legacy hardware. The DC output voltage is selectable for both AISG and RS-485A/B pin configurations — a software-controlled switch accommodates legacy AISG equipment without rewiring.

What field tasks does the PCU-4 support?

The Windows-based control application — supplied with the kit — enables field technicians to read and set the electrical downtilt angle of each RET antenna, configure TMA gain settings, read antenna configuration data including model and serial number, and run diagnostic checks on the AISG bus. Up to 24 RET actuators and 24 TMAs can be managed from a single PCU-4, with a maximum control cable length of 230 metres when driving 24 RETs at +24 VDC.

What are the regional kit variants?

The PCU-KIT-4 is available in three regional configurations differing only in the supplied AC power cord: PCU-KIT-4-US (NEMA 5-15P for North America), PCU-KIT-4-EU (CEE 7/7 Schuko for Europe), and PCU-KIT-4-UK (BS-1363 for the United Kingdom). Optional kits with integrated AISG Bias-T modems are also available under the PCU-4-BT100-Kit and PCU-4-BT101-Kit part numbers for sites requiring bias-T injection.
