Product Description
The Bosch Engineering IPC (Injector Pump Control) series is a modular, laboratory-grade test control system for developing, calibrating, and endurance-testing common-rail diesel injection components. Designed for automotive OEM and Tier-1 test laboratories, the series splits control electronics from power stages — enabling flexible configuration for different injector and pump types without changing the core control unit.
How do the three IPC variants address different test requirements?
IPC-201 targets high-pressure pump testing, driving up to 2 solenoid valve actuators on CP1, CP3, CP4, and CPN-series pumps with angle-synchronous control referenced to a 60-2 crank/cam pattern or a rotary encoder (3,600 pulses/rev ROD variant). IPC-400 manages complete solenoid-injector CR systems — up to 6 injectors with boost currents up to 30 A (0.01 A resolution) and booster voltages to 75 V, supporting a minimum 20 µs between successive injections. IPC-450P handles piezo injector systems (CRI3) with charge regulation (Gen2) or voltage regulation (Gen1) at typical piezo voltages of 120–230 V and minimum 100 µs inter-injection intervals. All variants share a common 19-inch rack form factor (7 RU) and run the same Windows-based IPC-CT software.
What does angle-synchronous actuation enable?
The system triggers each injection event relative to crankshaft angle rather than time, with ±0.1° CrS positioning accuracy. This allows precise emulation of the engine ECU's injection timing — including up to 16 partial injections per 720° crankshaft cycle — enabling development engineers to isolate injection strategy effects from engine dynamics. Parallel power stage operation fires multiple injectors simultaneously, reducing total test duration for multi-cylinder endurance runs.
