Product Description
The VitzroEM VITAC 200 is an electronic monitoring and control unit for automatic transfer switches, compatible with VitzroEM W-Type, WN-Type, and WP-Type ATS units as well as third-party transfer switches. It continuously monitors A-phase voltage and frequency on both the commercial and emergency power inputs, and executes switchover when any parameter exceeds its user-configurable threshold.
What protection parameters can be configured?
All protection thresholds are fully adjustable: under-voltage from 150.0 to 210.0 V (default 176 V), over-voltage from 230.0 to 245.0 V (default 242 V), under-frequency from 58.0 to 60.0 Hz (default 59.0 Hz), and over-frequency from 60.0 to 62.0 Hz (default 61.0 Hz). Each protection function has an independent time delay adjustable from 0.0 to 99.9 seconds to prevent nuisance tripping during transient disturbances. Normal voltage and frequency range limits for automatic recovery are also separately configurable.
How does the switchover sequence work?
When the active power source exceeds a protection threshold for longer than its configured time delay, the VITAC 200 energizes the appropriate control output relay (16 A wet contact at AC 250 V) to command the ATS mechanism. An adjustable output signal time prevents coil damage by limiting how long the closing or tripping coil remains energized. If automatic recovery is enabled, the controller returns the ATS to the higher-priority source once that source returns to within the normal voltage and frequency ranges. A front-panel pushbutton allows manual forced switchover when pressed for more than 1.5 seconds.
How is the VITAC 200 monitored and configured remotely?
The controller's RS-232 port supports Modbus RTU protocol for integration with SCADA or building management systems. VICOM Manager PC software provides real-time display of voltage and frequency measurements, power status, and switch position, plus read and write access to all protection parameters. The front panel includes LED indicators for commercial and emergency power status, switch ON/OFF state, interlock status, and auto/manual mode.
