Product Description

What does the UDL-M8009 monitor?

The UDL-M8009 continuously acquires rotor magnetic flux profiles to detect turn-to-turn shorts and winding deterioration in generator rotors. By comparing the measured flux signature against a healthy baseline, it distinguishes electrical imbalances from mechanical ones — preventing unnecessary re-balancing interventions.

How does it integrate into a condition monitoring system?

Communication options include Ethernet and Modbus RTU (RS-485), with 4–20 mA analogue outputs for each channel and relay contacts for system OK and per-channel alarm status. The module operates standalone via its built-in 4.3″ resistive touch LCD, or interfaces with SCADA/DCS platforms for centralized monitoring.

Which sensors are compatible?

The UDL-M8009 accepts two flux sensors from the ASC series — the ASC-2016 and ASCF Flexi-Flux for cylindrical rotors (turbo generators), and the ASC-2520 and ASCT-5015 for both cylindrical and salient-pole rotors (turbo, hydro generators, and HV machines).
