The RLS RC is MAICO's central wireless control panel for the MAICOsmart decentralized exhaust air ventilation system — an EnOcean 868.3 MHz radio controller powered by an integrated solar cell with dual lithium buffer batteries, requiring neither mains wiring nor battery replacement. A rotary push-knob with confirmation button sets ventilation levels 0–3; a backlit LCD shows room temperature, energy storage status, radio signal strength, and fault messages.

How does wireless commissioning work?

The RLS RC pairs with one MAICOsmart fan designated as Master, plus up to two Slave fans — all via EnOcean 868.3 MHz radio at up to 30 m indoor range. Transmitters are "taught in" (paired) during commissioning. An optional DS RC radio switch overrides RLS RC settings with a 30-minute timeout. Optional radio window contacts (EnOcean) automatically switch off assigned fans when a window is opened.

What programs and modes are available?

Two pre-configured programs — P1 for small apartments and P2 for larger apartments — adjust ventilation behaviour. Holiday Mode runs fans in a 30-minute-on / 30-minute-off interval for humidity protection during extended absence. A temperature cut-off (adjustable 16–19°C) stops fans when room temperature drops below the setpoint to prevent cooling. The filter change reminder is adjustable from 2 to 6 months.

What are the installation constraints?

The RLS RC mounts on any interior wall without wiring — the solar cell must receive sufficient ambient light (≥150 lux continuously), so mounting in a well-lit room is essential. No electrical connection is needed. The compact wall-mount design suits apartments, bathrooms (in compliance with DIN 18017-3), and small commercial spaces where running control wiring would be impractical.
