What does the DULCODOS measure and control automatically?

The system continuously monitors the core cooling water parameters — conductivity, pH, and ORP/redox potential — plus oxidative biocides (chlorine, chlorine dioxide, or bromine) via selective amperometric sensors. Direct corrosion measurement on metal coupons and indirect inhibitor detection via fluorescence sensors provide real-time insight into system protection levels. When any parameter drifts outside its setpoint, the AEGIS II controller activates the appropriate dosing pump: corrosion inhibitors to maintain the protective film, dispersants to prevent scale, or biocides to control microbiological growth.

How does the DULCODOS support regulatory compliance?

In many jurisdictions, evaporative cooling systems are subject to mandatory water quality monitoring and reporting. In Germany, the 42nd Federal Immission Control Ordinance (42. BImSchV) requires operators of cooling towers and wet separators to document water treatment parameters and submit compliance reports. The DULCODOS automates this process — the AEGIS II controller generates reports at configurable intervals and distributes them via email. With LAN, Wi-Fi, Modbus RTU (with gateways to other fieldbuses), and DULCONNEX Cloud connectivity, compliance data is accessible to facility managers, water treatment service providers, and regulatory auditors without requiring on-site visits.

What are the installation requirements?

The DULCODOS panel mounts in the bypass of the cooling water circulation line, with sample water flowing through the integrated sensor manifold at 15–500 L/h (or 15–40 L/h when selective biocide measurement is fitted). Maximum operating pressure at the sample point is 1–6 bar depending on the specific configuration, and the medium temperature must not exceed 45 °C. The system requires a 90–240 V single-phase supply and operates in ambient temperatures from +5 to +50 °C. The IP65 enclosure allows installation in the mechanical room alongside the cooling system, without requiring a separate climate-controlled cabinet.
