The RXD series is Röders' high-speed dental milling machine line, spanning the 4-axis RXD4 and the 5-axis RXD5 / RXD5C. All axes run on wear-free water-cooled linear motors, and an integrated measuring laser checks every tool for breakage and wear.

Why linear motors on a dental mill?

A ball-screw axis wears, develops backlash and slows the short, fast moves that dental discs demand. The RXD's linear motors drive every axis directly with no wear, holding sub-nanometre control resolution at 42,000 mm/min feed — the dynamics a 5-axis zirconia cycle needs without the maintenance a screw-driven mill carries.
