The MiWire Pro is a dual-antenna maritime connectivity system that combines two SeaWire RouDem units with a Below Deck Unit (BDU) to provide reliable internet access for vessels, remote work sites, and mobile installations. Each RouDem integrates a cellular modem, WiFi access point, and auto-rotating directional antenna in a single IP55-rated housing.

How does the dual-antenna system work?

Each RouDem unit contains a motorized directional antenna that automatically scans the horizon, identifies available cellular towers, and locks onto the strongest signal using a patented software algorithm. In the Pro configuration, one antenna maintains the primary connection while the second continuously scans — when both are out of scan mode, they operate simultaneously, effectively doubling data throughput. The BDU manages traffic distribution between the two antennas and supports fiber or satellite failover for uninterrupted connectivity. If one antenna loses signal, the second maintains the connection without interruption.

What are the 4G and 5G options?

The RouDem 4G variant supports LTE-Advanced CAT6 with 2× carrier aggregation and 2×2 MIMO across eleven 4G bands plus 3G fallback on B1/B3/B5/B8. WiFi is 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz (up to 300 Mbps). The 5G variant adds NR NSA/SA operation across fifteen 5G bands plus thirteen 4G and six 3G bands with GNSS (L1/L5), and upgrades WiFi to 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wave 2 (400 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, 866 Mbps at 5 GHz). The 5G model includes an eSIM in addition to the physical Micro-SIM slot. Battery backup provides up to 8 hours runtime on 4G and 1 hour on 5G.

How is the system installed?

Each RouDem mounts on a Ø38 mm pole using the included bracket and connects to the BDU via a single CAT7 S/FTP Ethernet cable (UV/water-resistant, double-shielded, grounded, up to 100 m). Power is delivered over the same cable via PoE. The BDU provides additional LAN ports for connecting external WiFi access points to extend coverage throughout the vessel. Installation requires no network infrastructure expertise — the system self-configures through an automated scanning and memorization routine.
