The Siemens 5UB4724 is a surface-mounted DELTA fläche double Schuko socket in vertical orientation — two outlets stacked one above the other in a single IP44 enclosure. Vertical vs horizontal: which orientation for your installation?

The DELTA fläche double sockets are available in two orientations: horizontal 5UB4722 (75 × 134 × 54 mm, outlets side by side) and vertical 5UB4724 (151 × 66 × 54 mm, outlets stacked). The choice is purely mechanical — same electrical ratings, same terminals, same IP44 protection. Vertical orientation works better when wall width is limited (between studs, in narrow service ducts) or when cables approach from ceiling-level trunking. Horizontal orientation suits installations below windows, above long workbenches, or anywhere devices sit next to each other.

Wiring and installation

Pre-wired internally — one cable entry feeds both sockets via common supply rails. Plug-in screwless terminals accept solid and stranded conductors up to 2.5 mm². Double terminals at each contact support clean loop-through to downstream sockets. Surface-mounted with screw fastening onto any flat wall. Cable entry via push-on nipples for round cables 8–13.5 mm diameter.
