The 5UB4725 is the increased-touch-protection variant of the DELTA fläche horizontal double Schuko socket. Two Type F outlets in a single surface-mounted housing — one cutout, one cable entry, two usable sockets. The recessed live contacts (erhöhter Berührungsschutz) add a safety margin that the base 5UB4722 does not offer.

How does the 5UB4725 differ from the 5UB4722 and 5UB4724?

The DELTA fläche double-socket range has three models. The 5UB4722 is the base horizontal variant — two-tone dark gray/light gray, no increased touch protection. The 5UB4724 is vertical (151 × 66 mm), for narrow wall spaces where horizontal won't fit. The 5UB4725 sits above the 5UB4722: same horizontal layout (75 × 134 mm), but single-tone gray finish and recessed contacts that meet the increased-touch-protection standard. If the installation environment has any child-access risk — or if the spec calls for erhöhter Berührungsschutz — the 5UB4725 is the one to reach for.

What does increased touch protection actually do?

The socket apertures on the 5UB4725 have a deeper recess and smaller contact openings than standard Schuko sockets. A straight finger or a thin object cannot reach the live contacts inside — the geometry simply won't allow it. This is a passive safety measure: no moving shutter, nothing to break, no reliance on a spring mechanism. It works the same on day one and day ten thousand. The trade-off is that the recess can make plug insertion feel slightly tighter with some older plug designs.

Installation and wiring

Surface-mounted via screw holes (Ø 4.5 mm) directly onto the wall. Screwless plug-in terminals accept solid conductors — strip, push in, done. All terminals are doubled for clean loop-through to the next socket in the circuit. Cable entry is through sliding nipples that seal around 8–13.5 mm Ø cable. The hinged spring-flap cover snaps shut to maintain the IP44 splash-protection rating when no plug is inserted.
