The Roxspur LF is a rugged mechanical flow switch designed for low flow or flow failure alarm applications in liquid systems. It is commonly used in cooling circuits, water heaters, lubrication systems, and various industrial equipment where reliable flow detection is critical for preventing damage due to insufficient flow.

Working Principle

The LF flow switch operates on a simple float/reed switch principle. It must be installed vertically in a line with flow direction upward. Under normal flow conditions, the liquid lifts a float containing an encapsulated magnet. The magnet actuates an externally mounted reed switch, closing the electrical contacts. When the flow rate drops below the preset alarm level, the float falls to its rest position, the contacts open, and an alarm output is triggered.
