Product Description

The EPSMS (Emergency Power Shutdown Management System) from Fike Corporation is a UL-listed, PLC-based control panel that consolidates Emergency Power Off functions into a single centralized cabinet. It receives inputs from fire alarm panels (2nd alarm, system discharge signals), clean agent control panels, and EPO switches, then controls outputs to de-energize equipment and isolate hazards.

What equipment does the EPSMS control on shutdown?

Fire and smoke dampers, door holders, exhaust fans, UPS units, shunt trip breakers, and air conditioning/HVAC systems. Power shutdown and HVAC controls are segregated within the panel, allowing independent operation of each circuit.

How does the maintenance bypass work?

A lock-out protected maintenance bypass prevents accidental EPO activation during service work. Locking-type EPO switches with protective covers on the front panel further guard against unwanted operation. Local status is shown via illuminated indicating lights; remote monitoring capability is built in.

What applications is it designed for?

Data centers, telecommunications facilities, electrical rooms, elevator machine rooms, and water treatment plants — any facility where emergency power shutdown must be coordinated across multiple systems per NFPA 75. The modular design allows easy expansion and modification as facility equipment changes.
