Product Description

The D4K Pro is EnvisionTEC's high-resolution desktop DLP 3D printer purpose-built for dental laboratories. It pairs an industrial-grade 4K UV LED projector (385 nm) with patented Enhanced XY Resolution technology to achieve 25 µm accuracy — the highest effective resolution of any 4K desktop DLP printer on the market. A build volume of 148 × 83 × 110 mm, intelligent closed-loop peel control via the patented PSA assembly, and an open material license option make the D4K Pro a single-platform solution for the full dental workflow, from diagnostic models and surgical guides to crowns, bridges, and removable denture frameworks.

How does Enhanced XY Resolution achieve 25 µm accuracy from a 50 µm native projector?

The D4K Pro's native DLP projector has a pixel pitch of 50 µm, which is standard for a 4K chip at this build area. EnvisionTEC's patented Enhanced XY Resolution technology applies sub-pixel modulation during exposure — shifting the projected image by a controlled fraction of a pixel between successive exposures — to double the effective addressable grid to 25 µm. The 385 nm UV wavelength ensures deep cure-through of dental resins, while the closed-loop peel mechanism (PSA — Patent Pending Self-Adjusting Assembly) minimizes the separation force after each layer. Reducing peel force means less support structure, finer features, and fewer build failures on delicate geometries like thin-walled surgical guides and partial framework patterns.

What dental applications does the D4K Pro handle?

EnvisionTEC designed the D4K Pro as a dedicated dental production platform. The 148 × 83 mm build area accommodates multiple units per print — approximately 8–12 full-arch models or 15–20 single crowns per platform, depending on nesting density. The full application range includes diagnostic and working models, crown and bridge patterns, surgical guides, custom impression trays, bite guards, castable partial denture frameworks, gingival masks, and indirect bonding trays. The 1 µm Z-axis resolution and dynamic layer thickness (15–150 µm) let the operator choose between speed for study models (100–150 µm layers) and surface finish for restorations (25–50 µm layers).

How does the open material license work?

By default, the D4K Pro ships with access to EnvisionTEC's library of validated dental resins — including E-Model, E-Guard, E-Guide, E-Denture, E-Cast, and E-Tray formulations. The optional open material license unlocks compatibility with third-party 385 nm DLP resins, giving labs the flexibility to use preferred materials or negotiate supplier pricing independently. Material changeover takes under five minutes: drain the resin tray, wipe the PSA membrane, refill with the new material, and select the corresponding print profile in Envision One RP software. The software includes automatic support generation with dental-specific presets and integrated mesh healing for non-watertight STL files.
