The MECT TPLC100 is a modular DIN rail PLC built upon an ARM9-based architecture, designed to deliver flexible and scalable automation solutions. Its modular structure allows the inputs and outputs to be expanded by adding Mect MPNC series modules—MPNC006, MPNC030, and MPNC035 for analog signals, and MPNC020 for digital signals. The analog and digital I/O communicate with each other via an internal bus mounted on the DIN rail, simplifying wiring and system configuration. This design makes the TPLC100 an ideal choice for applications requiring a customized mix of I/O and future expandability.

The TPLC100 boasts an impressive array of onboard I/O. It provides 8 PNP digital inputs and 8 relay outputs for standard discrete control. For analog and temperature measurement, the PLC is equipped with 4 analog inputs configurable by software for mA or V signals, plus 8 analog inputs configurable for J, T, or K type thermocouples or PT100 RTDs. Two additional analog outputs are provided for controlling actuators or sending setpoints. This comprehensive analog capability makes the TPLC100 particularly well-suited for process control applications involving temperature, pressure, or flow monitoring.

Communication and connectivity are central to the TPLC100's design. The PLC features a configurable interface that can be set to either RS485 (Modbus RTU) or CANopen, as well as an Ethernet interface supporting Modbus TCP and TCPRTU. A USB host port is provided for convenient datalogging and software updates. Crucially, the TPLC100 offers advanced remote capabilities essential for Industry 4.0 applications. The VNC function allows the creation of a "Virtual HMI," enabling operators to visualize synoptic diagrams without the need for a dedicated PC or operator panel. Furthermore, the sMily remote connection and monitoring service enables users to remotely control and monitor the device from anywhere, at any time.

Programming and configuration are handled through the MECT SUITE software package. This comprehensive suite includes two primary development environments. ATCMControl is used for generating PLC applications, supporting all five languages of the IEC 61131-3 standard, and includes libraries for PID control and auto-tuning. Qt Creator is employed for creating graphical HMI applications, defining system variables, configuring communication parameters, and debugging the HMI. The TPLC100 can store up to 192 "strong" (retained) variables that maintain their values during power outages, along with over 4800 non-retained variables. With its powerful ARM9 core, extensive I/O, and advanced remote capabilities, the MECT TPLC100 is a compelling solution for modern industrial automation and process control.
