Product Description
The PNEUMAX PX series is a modular electronic control platform designed to drive solenoid valve manifolds across all major industrial fieldbus networks from a single hardware architecture. Rather than stocking different valve terminal part numbers for PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or EtherCAT installations, machine builders configure one PX platform with the required protocol interface — reducing inventory complexity and simplifying electrical design across machine variants destined for different end-user network environments.
How does a multi-protocol platform reduce machine builder inventory?
In a typical OEM scenario, the same machine model may ship to an automotive plant using PROFINET, a packaging facility standardized on EtherNet/IP, and an electronics assembly line running EtherCAT. With single-protocol valve terminals, each variant requires a unique part number and separate electrical documentation. The PX series consolidates these into one hardware base: the protocol is selected via the bus coupler module, while the valve drivers and I/O modules remain identical. This also simplifies service stock — one set of spare I/O modules covers all protocol variants in the field.
What I/O configurations are available on the PX platform?
Digital I/O modules are offered in 8-channel (M8 or M12 connectors), 16-channel (terminal block), and 32-channel (37-pin SUB-D) densities. Analogue input and output modules provide 2 or 4 channels each, supporting 0–5 V, 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, and 4–20 mA signal ranges with 12-bit resolution. Pt100 RTD input modules handle 2-, 3-, or 4-wire probes across a –100 °C to +900 °C measurement span with ±0.2 °C accuracy. An additional power supply module delivers up to 4 A per pin for downstream modules, ensuring stable operation across extended manifold configurations.
Which EVO valve series can the PX platform control?
The PX platform integrates directly onto PNEUMAX EVO solenoid valve manifolds across four size categories: Series 2200 Optyma-S EVO (up to 550 Nl/min), Series 2500 Optyma-F and Optyma-T EVO (up to 1,000 Nl/min), Series 2700 EVO (ISO 15407-compliant, up to 1,000 Nl/min), and Series 3000 EVO (10.5 mm and 15.5 mm widths, up to 600 Nl/min). The platform can also operate standalone — connected via SUB-D cable to any solenoid valve manifold — for retrofit applications where the valve island is already installed.
