The Rotronic AwTherm is a professional laboratory-grade water activity meter designed for the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. Since water activity is highly temperature-dependent, the AwTherm precisely stabilizes the sample temperature from 0 to 60°C with ±0.01°C/min stability, eliminating external thermal influences and ensuring repeatable, accurate results.

The instrument measures water activity from 0.005 to 1.000 aw with an accuracy of ±0.005 aw (at 10-30°C) and long-term drift below 0.01 aw per year. It employs Rotronic's proven Hygromer IN-1 humidity sensor and a Pt100 temperature sensor for reliable performance.

A key feature is the removable measuring head, which allows the probe to be easily removed for calibration or cleaning without disturbing the instrument. The AwQuick fast measurement mode delivers results in just 4-5 minutes, significantly increasing laboratory throughput. The 8-line LCD touchscreen provides intuitive operation and real-time trend display.

Two sample cup depths are available: the 14 mm cup is ideal for powders and liquids, while the 40 mm cup accommodates larger particles such as seeds and pet food. The micro USB interface connects to Rotronic's HW4 software for data logging, analysis, and report generation.

Water activity is a critical quality parameter that measures the free (unbound) water in a product, directly influencing microbiological stability, chemical reactions, and shelf life.
