Product Description

The C60 from Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division (Arens Controls) is a dual-axis mechanical lever control that allows a vehicle or equipment operator to command two independent functions — typically hydraulic valve sections — with a single lever. It translates symmetrical ±30° lever movement into ±0.50 in (12.7 mm) output stroke at each of two outputs, with a working load capacity of 100 lbs (455 N) per output. Spring-return to center is standard, with an optional neutral lock in 2- or 3-position configurations.

How does the C60 dual-axis mechanism work?

The lever pivots on two orthogonal axes — designated plus-axis and X-axis — with each axis driving a separate mechanical output. Moving the lever forward/backward actuates one output; moving it left/right actuates the other. The mounting orientation is rotatable, allowing the installer to align the axes with the machine's natural operator reference frame. Each output incorporates an independent centering spring that returns the lever to neutral when released. An optional input motion restrictor can limit lever travel for applications requiring reduced stroke.

What output configurations are available?

The C60 base model provides dual outputs at ±0.50 in stroke per axis. Two related variants address different linkage requirements: the C61 is optimized for push-pull cable outputs with a standard 2-inch stroke (compatible with 42C or 62B cable types), while the C62 is designed for direct rod linkage outputs. An optional QUADCO® grip with integrated electrical switches adds operator-presence detection, horn activation, or transmission interlock functionality at the lever handle. A 1-inch stroke cable option is available for installations with tight bend radii and reduced travel requirements.

What are typical applications for the C60?

The C60 is primarily used in off-highway mobile equipment — construction machinery, agricultural tractors, material handling vehicles, and specialty utility equipment — where a single operator lever must control multiple hydraulic spool valves simultaneously. Its all-mechanical design (push-pull cables or rod linkages) requires no electrical power, making it suitable for vehicles without sophisticated electronic control systems or where functional safety requirements favor mechanical over electronic actuation.
