Product Description

The GÖPEL electronic ECUsafety is an automatic test control unit for validating safety and comfort functions across networked automotive ECUs. Modern luxury-class vehicles contain over 70 electronic control units interconnected via bus systems — ECUsafety simulates and monitors these networks to verify that safety-critical interactions function correctly before vehicle integration.

What ECU safety scenarios does the system validate?

ECUsafety tests safety-critical inter-ECU dependencies: for example, verifying that an airbag only deploys when the passenger is properly strapped in, or that a convertible roof only operates below 20 km/h. It also validates power coordination between the battery management system and comfort ECUs, where non-essential systems must selectively enter power-saving mode to preserve vehicle range during driving or standstill.

Which bus protocols are supported?

The system communicates via standard automotive bus protocols — CAN, LIN, and FlexRay — enabling residual bus simulation where an isolated ECU is tested within a simulated network environment. This allows engineers to validate communication behavior, diagnostic responses, and transport protocol compliance before the ECU is integrated into the full vehicle network.
