The Siemens 5UB1463 is the silver-finish version of the DELTA profil standard SCHUKO Type F socket — the metallic counterpart of the titanium-white 5UB1403. Electrically and mechanically the two are identical: 10/16A, 250V, screwless plug-in terminals, 65x65mm plate, standard touch protection.

Silver — convention or style?

In German VDE installation practice, silver and grey sockets are conventionally assigned to EDV (IT/data processing) circuits. The logic: a silver socket instantly signals to users and maintenance staff that this outlet is on a dedicated IT circuit with its own earthing arrangement and possibly UPS backup — do not plug in a vacuum cleaner. Not every project follows this convention. In contemporary architecture, silver is equally often chosen for its aesthetic compatibility with stainless steel, glass, and monochrome interiors. Either reading is valid — the socket itself is the same Type F receptacle behind a metallic-finish plate.

White or silver?

The white 5UB1403 blends with standard residential and office interiors. The silver 5UB1463 stands out — deliberately, if you are following the EDV convention, or harmoniously, if the room already uses metallic switchgear and fixtures. The decision is purely architectural.
