Product Description

Why put a piezo motor on a Galil controller instead of a dedicated piezo amplifier?

A dedicated piezo amplifier usually exposes only position commands and a handshake. By borrowing Galil's architecture, the DMC-30019 hands the engineer a full servo toolkit — PID with velocity and acceleration feedforward, electronic gearing and camming, PVT contouring — in the same English-like command language used across thousands of Galil systems. A team that already knows Galil gets nanometre piezo motion without learning a second, niche interface.

The DMC-30019 runs standalone or daisy-chains over two Ethernet ports, executes four programs concurrently, and feeds back encoder position to 15 MHz.

  • PID plus velocity/acceleration feedforward, notch and low-pass filter
  • Two daisy-chainable Ethernet 10/100 ports, one RS-232
  • Encoder feedback to 15 MHz — quadrature, SSI, BiSS or sinusoidal
  • Concurrent execution of four programs, 1000-line memory

Against a standalone piezo driver with a proprietary protocol, the DMC-30019 trades a little integration simplicity for a programming model the motion team already speaks.
