Both are available in 3-port (1 trunk + 2 feeder) and 7-port (1 trunk + 6 feeder) configurations with RJ-45 communication connectors and tension-clamp power terminals. The JC-IO is a protocol gateway bridging Modbus TCP Client and SLMP Client (Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-R, iQ-F, Q series) protocols, connecting up to 32 nodes and 4 I/O modules with internal register mapping via dedicated JCIOCFG configuration software. A built-in web server allows browser-based monitoring of inputs and outputs.

At the maximum 7-hub cascade with HLS at 3 Mbps, the JC-HL achieves a total cable length of 2.4 km — each additional hub extends the trunk by 300 m. At 12 Mbps the reach is 100 m per hop (700 m total with 7 hubs). CUnet transmission via JC-CU reaches 300 m per hop at 12 Mbps and 900 m at 3 Mbps (2 hubs max). All modules operate from a 24 V DC supply (±10%) with power consumption under 1.5 W for hub modules and approximately 2 W for the JC-IO gateway. Operating temperature range is -10°C to +55°C at 10–90% RH non-condensing.
