At 26.4 A, this is the most powerful G115D variant with built-in brake control, designed for conveyor sections where the motor must decelerate a load or hold position against gravity.

Why brake control matters at 5.5 kW

On a declining conveyor section, the motor becomes a generator — the load pulls the belt, the belt turns the motor, and the motor pushes energy back into the drive's DC link. Without a braking chopper, the drive can absorb only as much regenerated energy as its internal capacitors can store — enough for occasional stops, not for cyclic braking duty. The AB0 variant includes the chopper circuit that switches an external braking resistor across the DC link when the voltage rises above a threshold, converting the regenerated energy to heat. At 5.5 kW with a minimum 40 Ω external resistor, this handles the braking duty on inclined conveyors, pallet lifts, and stop-and-go indexing tables where the motor decelerates frequently.

This gives the drive meaningful thermal headroom for braking duty on heavy conveyor sections. The integrated cooling fan runs continuously, independent of braking activity, keeping the power stage within its rated temperature range whether the drive is motoring or braking.
