Product Description
The Shanghai STEP Electric C7000 (MCP-ST) is a fully integrated elevator control cabinet that consolidates the variable-frequency drive, PLC-based motion controller, and CAN bus communication backbone into a single IP65-rated enclosure — eliminating the separate drive, controller, and I/O cabinets of conventional elevator machine-room installations. It supports machine-room (MR) and machine-room-less (MRL) configurations, with MRL versions measuring 1780×400×220 mm for compact shaft-side installation.
What does the integrated drive and control architecture achieve?
A 32-bit DSP motor control processor, CPLD logic, and 6th-generation IGBT intelligent power module form the power core. Advanced vector control with dynamic PWM carrier modulation produces low motor noise — a comfort-critical parameter in passenger elevators. CAN bus communication eliminates the multi-cable signal wiring between the controller, car-top station, landing calls, and door operator, replacing it with a single bus. Load-sensorless starting compensation adjusts motor torque on each start based purely on electrical parameters, achieving smooth take-off without a physical weighing device in the car. Balance coefficient self-learning automates a calibration step that traditionally required a technician to load the car with known weights.
What safety and IoT features are built in?
STO (Safe Torque Off) is integrated into the drive. Hardware-based gate blocking (base-block) provides a hardwired safety layer between the door-lock circuit and the motor output, independent of the control software. On the IoT side, optional cloud connectivity enables remote fault diagnosis, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance scheduling. Fault logs are downloadable for offline analysis. The guided commissioning wizard steps the installer through parameter setup, reducing on-site programming time and eliminating common misconfiguration errors.
