How does the RBMTX-Lite-I/0 connect industrial equipment to the cloud?
The RBMTX-Lite-I/0 bridges legacy serial equipment and cloud platforms by combining a 4G LTE Cat.4 cellular router (150 Mbps DL) with an RS232/485 port supporting Modbus RTU. The ARM Cortex-A7 Linux platform runs custom telemetry applications, polling Modbus registers from connected meters, sensors, or PLCs and forwarding data via MQTT/HTTP to cloud IoT platforms. Dual SIM ensures carrier redundancy for critical infrastructure.
What distinguishes the I/O variant from the standard RBMTX-Lite?
The RBMTX-Lite-I/0 adds an 8-pin GPIO connector with three 0–3.3V digital inputs for sensor or contact closure monitoring and three digital outputs (two 0–3.3V, one open-collector) for relay driving or status indication. This allows direct local control — starting a pump, opening a gate, or triggering an alarm — without an external PLC, in the same 83 × 53.5 × 26 mm footprint as the base model.
