The Berthiez TVU series is the Starrag Group's vertical turning and milling center for aerospace engine and turbine components. A completely cast-iron structure damps vibration, and an integrated grinding and milling spindle with high-pressure coolant handles titanium and nickel superalloys.

Why turn, mill and grind in one clamping?

A multi-tonne turbine casing moved between a lathe, a mill and a grinder risks handling damage and loses its datum at every transfer. The TVU's integrated spindle and optional Y-axis do all the operations in one setup, so the casing stays clamped and the geometry stays true — the accuracy an aerospace part demands.

Against separate machines, the TVU keeps the part in one clamping — the reason a turbine casing is finished without the risk of re-fixturing a multi-tonne part.
