Product Description
The AC series is Pietro Carnaghi's single-column vertical turning and milling center, built with a thermo-symmetrical frame fixed to the base. All linear axes ride hydrostatic pockets, and the crossrail is sized for severe cutting conditions.
Why a thermo-symmetrical frame on a vertical lathe?
A lathe that heats up unevenly drifts out of square, which shows up as form error on a precision ring. The AC's thermo-symmetrical single frame holds its geometry through the day, so the same machine finishes a delicate aeronautics part and roughs a heavy forging without losing accuracy.
