The Cordex CXC HP sits at the top of Alpha's controller range, managing Cordex rectifier shelves, DC-DC converters, inverters, and line power products from a single 4.3-inch touchscreen panel. Its dual-Ethernet architecture — one port on the front face, one on the rear — lets a technician plug in a laptop without disturbing the NOC uplink, while the embedded web UI works with any standard browser without plugins.

How does the CXC HP differ from the standard CXC?

The HP variant adds the high-resolution color touchscreen, dual Ethernet ports, dual USB ports, and a built-in multi-tone alarm speaker. The standard CXC uses a 2-line LCD with keypad navigation and a single Ethernet port. Both run the same Cordex software platform and support the same CAN-bus I/O peripherals, so upgrading is a drop-in replacement.

What I/O expansion is available?

Three CAN-bus expansion modules extend the controller beyond its onboard I/O. The L-ADIO (P/N 0180039) adds 4 voltage inputs, 4 shunt inputs, 4 temperature inputs, 8 digital inputs, and 12 relay outputs. The 6i-ADIO (P/N 0180051) provides six additional shunt channels for multi-load current monitoring. The HV-ADIO (P/N 0180057) handles ±300 V voltage inputs and includes ground fault detection — critical for high-voltage DC plants. All modules are auto-discovered on the CAN bus.

What battery management features are included?

Automatic and manual battery testing, charge current control, temperature-compensated charging, equalize and absorption charge with configurable entry/exit criteria, and battery runtime prediction are all standard. The controller logs battery discharge events and calculates remaining capacity using the configured battery string parameters — no external battery monitor required.
