How does the rolling-code security system work on the ATR-244?

Each transmission from the ARC-844 remote uses a different code generated by a proprietary algorithm synchronised between the remote and the ATR-244 receiver module. Even if a transmission were intercepted, the captured code is invalid for the next operation, rendering replay attacks ineffective. The module stores up to 7 paired remote controls in its internal memory, and new remotes are enrolled through a simple learning procedure on the alarm panel. A high-sensitivity antenna with dedicated cable is included for optimal reception range.

Can the ATR-244 control non-alarm devices?

Yes. Through the alarm panel's PGM (programmable) output, the ATR-244 remote can be configured to toggle electrical devices such as lighting, electric shutters, garage doors, or sound systems. The panic button on the ARC-844 remote can be set for audible alarm activation or silent alert — silently calling the monitoring centre (AHM) and personal phone numbers without triggering the siren, useful in threat situations where discretion is required.
