The Darmet DK11 Series is a range of manual 3-jaw self-centering scroll chucks manufactured in Poland and designed as basic workholding equipment for engine lathes. The cast iron body provides natural vibration damping for improved surface finish during general turning operations. Each chuck ships ready to install with external solid jaws, internal solid jaws, a chuck key, and mounting screws for back-mount attachment to a lathe driving plate. The DK11 is also suitable for use on milling machines with dividing heads and on drilling machines.

How do the DK11 sizes compare?

Radial and axial runout is specified at 0.040 mm for sizes 80–160 mm and 0.055 mm for sizes 200–250 mm. Clamping range varies by size — for example, the DK11-160 accepts 3–55 mm on outer jaws and 50–160 mm on inner jaws, while the DK11-200 handles 4–85 mm externally and 65–200 mm internally.

What applications is the DK11 best suited for?

The DK11 is designed for general-purpose turning at low to moderate spindle speeds. The cast iron construction makes it well-suited for job shops, training workshops, and maintenance departments where vibration damping matters more than high-RPM capability. For high-speed production turning, Darmet recommends their steel-body power chuck series instead.
