Product Description
The 260HMS is Gleason's single-spindle gear honing machine, acquired with the Fässler honing business and built for hard-finished gears and shafts. An integrated B-axis adjusts flank modifications during the cut, and Combi Honing finishes two gears of a stepped pinion in one clamping with two honing rings.
Why Combi Honing for eDrive pinions?
A stepped pinion for a planetary eDrive transmission carries two gears that must synchronise within tight timing tolerances, and honing them separately loses the angular phase between them. The 260HMS hones both gears in one clamping, with three indexing sensors reading every tooth and the index hole — the accuracy an eDrive pinion needs for noise and assembly position.
- 270 mm diameter, module 6, 450 mm length
- B-axis flank modification during honing
- Rough and finish rings in one setup
- Integrated tailstock for shafts and heavy parts
Against two separate honing setups, the 260HMS keeps both gears in phase — the reason an eDrive pinion is honed, not ground twice.
