What parameters can the MCU 2500 measure?

Through plug-in measurement modules, the system monitors DC voltage up to 320 V, DC current via shunt inputs, ambient and battery temperature (−30 to +80°C), and single-phase or three-phase AC mains voltage. The TUI module provides four analog inputs, while dedicated BATTS modules handle battery bloc symmetry testing for 48 V, 60 V, 110 V, and 220 V battery strings.

How does battery management work?

The MCU 2500 performs temperature-compensated float voltage regulation, time-controlled battery availability discharge tests, and mid-point voltage symmetry monitoring. If a discharge test detects voltage dropping below threshold before the scheduled test period ends, the test aborts automatically — rectifiers remain online at a reduced voltage so the load is never at risk.

Can it be monitored remotely?

Yes. In addition to local RS-232 PC connection, the system supports analog or ISDN modem, serial Ethernet adapter, and TCP/IP-WEB adapter for SNMP integration. This enables 24/7 remote monitoring via Benning control centers or third-party network management systems, with optional relay outputs for local alarm annunciation.
