The Althen MR series is a compact, low-profile fingertip joystick built on conductive plastic potentiometers. Its pre-programmed proportional output per axis resists EMI, and the low operating force makes it easy to integrate where a fingertip, not a full hand grip, drives the control.

Why a potentiometer joystick for high magnetic fields?

Hall effect sensors are disrupted by strong magnetic fields, so applications near MRI or industrial magnets need a resistive sensing element instead. The MR uses 5 kΩ potentiometers on each axis, making it the right choice where field immunity matters more than contactless sensing.
