Product Description

The VP750 is a bench-mounted viscosity processor that serves as the central interface hub for Hydramotion viscometer systems. Machined from a solid Al 6082 alloy block, it provides power and a digital data link to connected viscometers, processes the viscosity signal, and presents measured variables on a large backlit matrix LCD. A single jog button navigates all configuration menus, measurement displays, and diagnostics.

How does the VP750 integrate into a process control system?

Three configurable 4–20 mA analog outputs transmit viscosity, reference viscosity, and temperature signals to a PLC or DCS. RS485 Modbus provides digital communication for multi-variable polling, while USB II connects to a PC, laptop, or tablet running ViscoLink software for real-time data viewing, trending, and logging. Two volt-free alarm contacts are fully assignable to high/low viscosity thresholds, sensor fault, or process event triggers.

What external sensor inputs does the VP750 accept?

Three user-assignable analog inputs accept external 4–20 mA signals for density, pressure, and 4-wire RTD or 4–20 mA temperature sensors. This allows the VP750 to display and log complementary process parameters alongside viscosity — providing a single-point data aggregation hub for the quality control station without additional panel instruments.
