Product Description
The Musashi MASTER TCU series is a precision temperature control platform engineered specifically for fluid dispensing processes. Unlike generic PID loop controllers designed for environmental chambers, the MASTER TCU family is designed and tuned for the thermal mass of syringe barrels, cartridges, and dispensing valves. Its fundamental purpose is not simply to heat or cool, but to actively manage the viscosity of adhesives, solder pastes, and encapsulants — eliminating the dispensing inconsistencies caused by ambient temperature drift or material thixotropy. The series encompasses two complementary technologies under one badge: resistive THERMO MASTER for pure heating, and Peltier-based PELTIER MASTER for bidirectional temperature regulation.
Series Structure — THERMO MASTER vs. PELTIER MASTER
- THERMO MASTER (Resistive Heating): Utilizes precision cartridge heaters (platinum RTD) integrated into ultra-lightweight syringe sleeves (as low as 135 g for 5 mL syringes). It is the go-to solution for warming standard cyanoacrylates, anaerobic adhesives, and silver-filled epoxies — materials requiring stable, reduced viscosity without active cooling. The design is self-contained and requires no compressed air, making it compatible with benchtop and inline dispensing stations.
- PELTIER MASTER (Bidirectional Heating & Cooling): Built around a multi-stage stacked Peltier module, this variant actively pumps heat in both directions, achieving sub-ambient cooling (typically down to -10 °C) and high-temperature heating (up to +80 °C). It targets polyurethane reactive (PUR) hot melts, dual-cure acrylics, and UV-cationic adhesives — fluids that demand a tight thermal window to prevent premature cross-linking or to delay cure kinetics during production pauses.
Micro-viscosity Management — Beyond Temperature Control
- ±0.1 °C Resolution, Simultaneous Readout: The control unit displays preset temperature and real-time measured temperature side by side with 0.1 °C resolution, giving the operator immediate feedback on thermal stability. The PID-adjusted output ensures that once the setpoint is reached — whether 25 °C or 75 °C — the peak-to-peak deviation stays within a narrow band, preventing the viscosity surge that leads to erratic dot volumes.
- Alarm & Safety: Integrated temperature anomaly alarms with external output signals allow the controller to trigger a pause or alert on the host dispensing PLC, protecting high-value substrates from being processed with out-of-spec material.
System Integration & Compact Design
- Modbus Digital Communication: All MASTER TCU variants support digital Modbus communication, enabling the host machine to remotely change setpoints, log temperature profiles, and verify thermal health without operator intervention.
- Ultra-Compact Form Factor: The PELTIER MASTER models achieve a footprint reduction of approximately 40% compared to legacy air-type CTRs, with some variants weighing as little as 480 g. This allows direct mounting on the Z-axis of Cartesian robots or gantry systems, shortening the thermal path to the dispense valve.
- Industrial Reliability: With IP56 ingress protection, embedded graphene vapor chambers for heat spreading, and ultra-quiet fan operation (<28 dB), the platform is validated for 24/7 operation in semiconductor cleanrooms and automotive electronics lines.
Typical Applications
- Underfill dispensing for flip-chip and BGA packages
- PUR reactive hot melt sealing in automotive camera and headlamp modules
- Precision micro-dispensing of UV-cure medical adhesives
- Thermal interface material (TIM) dispensing requiring constant viscosity
