Product Description
The EM2000 is Tibbo's flagship 32-bit ARM programmable IIoT module, providing a compact embedded platform for custom industrial networking and IoT endpoint devices. Running the Tibbo OS (TiOS) real-time operating system, it offers a rich set of programmable objects — including socket, serial, SPI, I²C, ADC, and flash disk — accessible from both Tibbo BASIC and C via the TIDE integrated development environment. The standard 2.54 mm (100 mil) pin pitch allows prototyping on breadboard and direct integration into production PCBs.
What distinguishes the EM2000 from earlier Tibbo modules?
The EM2000 upgrades the EM1000 platform with a 32-bit ARM core running at 120 MHz — a significant performance increase over the earlier 8-bit architecture. Memory has expanded to 1 MB of application flash and 66 KB of SRAM. Four independent UARTs support baud rates up to 921,600 bps with full hardware and software flow control. The dedicated 1 MB flash disk provides a fault-tolerant file system rated for 100,000 write cycles per sector, enabling reliable local data logging without external storage.
How is the EM2000 programmed and deployed?
Development is done in Tibbo's free TIDE IDE, which supports both Tibbo BASIC and C. Compiled application binaries are loaded onto the module via Ethernet, serial port, or — when equipped with the WA2000 add-on — over-the-air. Debugging is conducted over Ethernet without additional hardware. Once deployed, the module can be field-updated remotely, and the onboard EEPROM (2,048 bytes) stores configuration parameters with a 1,000,000-cycle endurance rating.
What connectivity options are available beyond Ethernet and serial?
The EM2000 supports the WA2000 add-on module for Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth LE 4.1, converting the wired Ethernet module into a wireless IoT endpoint. For cellular applications, an external 4G/LTE modem such as the SIM7500 can be interfaced via the serial ports. The module also supports externally connected 320×240 TFT LCD displays and matrix keypads for local HMI applications.
