Product Description
The Rion VM-82A is a general-purpose vibration meter specifically designed for the maintenance and inspection of industrial machinery, with a strong focus on rotating equipment . It provides a comprehensive evaluation of machine vibrations by allowing the user to measure acceleration, velocity, and displacement using a suitable frequency range. The operation panel features an optimized button layout for easy mode switching and setup, and a backup function instantly restores previous settings at power-on .
The instrument features a large, easy-to-read LCD panel that simultaneously displays a bar graph and numeric readings, along with frequency range settings and other useful information. A backlight is available for use in dark locations. In the event of an overload, the display shows "OVER" and the entire screen turns red as a clear warning . The VM-82A can store up to 1000 data points internally and has a USB port for direct data export to a computer and for remote control .
Power is provided by a single set of alkaline batteries, which delivers up to 24 hours of continuous operation. The unit also supports the use of environmentally friendly nickel-hydride rechargeable batteries. The standard sensor is a shear-type piezoelectric accelerometer (CCLD compatible) with a sensitivity of 5.1 mV/(m/s²). It meets relevant EMC standards including IEC 61326-1 and CISPR 11 .
