The KEP BAT RAT-M is a versatile, battery-powered ratemeter and totalizer from the BAT RAT Millennium series, designed to provide accurate flow indication in a variety of applications . It features a dual display showing 5 digits of rate information and 8 digits of total simultaneously. The unit is capable of accepting inputs from magnetic pickups, DC pulse sources, and switch closures, making it compatible with a wide range of pulse-producing flowmeters .

The BAT RAT-M can be powered by its internal battery, an external DC supply, or even powered from the 4-20 mA loop when the optional analog output is used . A key feature is its isolated high/low flow rate alarm output, which uses an opto-isolated photo-MOS relay to signal when flow rate deviates from set limits. The unit offers 20-point linearization as an option to correct for non-linear meter outputs .

Setup data is stored in nonvolatile flash memory, and the unit offers password protection to prevent unauthorized changes. An optional RS-485 Modbus communication and data logger module is available for remote data acquisition and trend analysis. The BAT RAT-M is also available with UL and C-UL Intrinsic Safety listings for use in hazardous locations .
