Where the other 5UB18 variants add a spring-loaded flap for dust protection and child safety, the 5UB1844 keeps the socket fully exposed for unrestricted plug access. It is the go-to choice for general-purpose outlets where frequent use makes a cover impractical.

Covered vs. Uncovered: Which One Do You Need?

Choose a hinged-cover variant (5UB1838–5UB1843) when the socket is in a dust-prone area, installed at low height where child safety is a concern, or used for circuits that should not be casually accessed. Choose the 5UB1844 when the socket is at standard worktop or desk height and gets plugged and unplugged multiple times a day — the cover would just get in the way.

Installation Notes

The 5UB1844 uses plug-in terminals for fast, tool-free wiring and mounts into standard flush-mount back boxes via claw and/or screw fixing. It accepts all CEE 7/4 (Schuko) plugs. The halogen-free thermoplastic housing meets VDE 620 and is RoHS compliant.
