Product Description
The Siemens 8WH2000-1BG28 is the 12V DC variant of the SENTRON 8WH2 spring-loaded fuse terminal. It shares the same mechanical platform as the 8WH2000-1BG38 — pluggable blade-type fuse holder, spring balancer connection, 0.08–4.0mm² wire range, 30A/400V rating, and front-facing LED defect indicator — but the LED monitoring circuit operates on 12V DC instead of 24V DC. For panels where 12V is the available control voltage, this is the matching variant.
When would I have a 12V DC control supply?
12V DC control voltage is less common in European industrial panels than 24V DC, but it does appear. Automotive test rigs, marine electrical panels, some solar/battery-backed systems, and legacy machine controls often run on 12V. If your panel's existing control bus is 12V, the 8WH2000-1BG28 connects directly without a separate DC-DC converter. If you have a 24V panel, use the 8WH2000-1BG38 — supplying 24V to the 12V LED circuit will burn out the indicator.
How is the LED voltage connected?
The terminal has a dedicated connection point for the LED monitoring voltage. The voltage reference is connected separately from the main current path — the LED circuit is a low-current sensing circuit, not part of the 30A power path. This separation means the LED supply can come from a different source than the circuit being fused, as long as the voltage rating matches.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I stack multiple 8WH2000 fuse terminals side by side on the same DIN rail?
Yes — the 8.15mm width is designed for high-density terminal strip assembly. No end plates or separation barriers are required between adjacent terminals. A 1-meter DIN rail can accommodate approximately 120 terminals.
What happens if the LED supply fails?
The LED indicator simply will not illuminate when a fuse blows. The fused circuit itself continues to operate — the LED monitoring circuit is independent of the main current path. A failed LED supply does not affect fuse protection. However, you lose the visual fault indication, which means troubleshooting reverts to manual continuity checking.
