The VAL.CO EFK2 is a compact calorimetric flow switch that monitors liquid and gas flow speeds in a single integrated unit. It combines the sensor element, two-colour LED status display, and potentiometer-based teach-in setpoint in a narrow stainless steel housing rated IP65, making it ideal for installation in confined piping with restricted access.

How does calorimetric flow detection work?

A heated sensor element is cooled by the flowing medium. The rate of heat dissipation is proportional to flow velocity. When flow drops below the user-set threshold, the output switches state and the LED changes from green to red. This principle uses no moving parts, requires minimal maintenance, and works reliably with both conductive and non-conductive fluids across a wide range of operating temperatures.

What connection and mounting options are available?

The EFK2 supports in-line mounting via T-pieces and insertion mounting with weld-on adapters or compression fittings for 12 mm diameter ports. An optional flexible gooseneck between the sensor probe and electronics housing allows the LED display to be oriented for optimal visibility regardless of pipe orientation, which is particularly useful in densely packed equipment cabinets where the flow switch body may not be directly visible.
