1.1 kW conveyor sections — feeder belts, small roller beds, reject gates — are traditionally the least monitored drives on a line. They are small enough that hardwired I/O has been the default, and their failure mode is typically discovered when the upstream section's photo-eye detects a product jam. The AF0 PROFINET interface changes that: this drive reports speed, current, and fault status to the PLC in real time over PROFIdrive. If motor current rises due to a stiff bearing on the driven roller, the SCADA historian sees the trend.
