Product Description
The Emerson ST-1314 is a 4-point discrete input module for the RSTi slice I/O platform, designed for 48VDC positive-logic (sourcing) field signals. At 12mm wide with spring-clamp terminals, it brings higher-voltage digital input capability to Ethernet-based distributed I/O — suited for battery-backed systems, traction power monitoring, and industrial DC bus applications where standard 24VDC modules fall short.
Why 48VDC input instead of 24VDC?
Many industrial DC systems operate at 48V nominal — telecom battery plants, rail signaling, and heavy machinery DC buses. The ST-1314 accepts 34–60VDC with a 43V on-state threshold, ensuring reliable detection even when the supply sags. Input impedance of approximately 12kΩ keeps sensor loading low (4mA at 48VDC), and the 3ms input delay filters contact bounce without slowing machine response.
How is it wired into the RSTi system?
All four inputs share a common return and connect via removable spring-clamp terminals accepting up to AWG 14 wire. Photocoupler isolation separates the field-side 48V circuit from the RSTi logic backplane. The module communicates through any RSTi network adapter over the Ethernet fieldbus and carries UL 508 and Class I Division 2 hazardous-location approvals.
