Product Description
The TE700 is Tecna's flagship microprocessor control unit for medium-frequency DC (MFDC) resistance welding. It drives IGBT inverter power stages at 1,000–4,000 Hz across up to four welding transformers, delivering precise, repeatable weld energy for spot, projection, and seam welding applications in automotive, appliance, and sheet metal fabrication. Six operating modes — including constant current, constant power, and constant voltage regulation — adapt to varying material thicknesses, surface coatings, and electrode wear conditions.
What welding cycle parameters and modes are programmable?
Each of the 300 stored programs supports up to 32 parameters covering the complete welding sequence: squeeze time (0.5–99 cycles), pre-weld (0–1,000 ms), slope up (0–1,000 ms), main weld (1–2,000 ms at 0.20–600.00 kW), post-weld pulses, and hold time. Six control modes allow the operator to select regulation strategy based on material behavior: Constant Current (CUR) compensates for secondary loop impedance changes, Constant Power (PW) adjusts for voltage fluctuations, Constant Voltage (VE) maintains electrode tip voltage, and Dynamic mode automatically adapts parameters in real time. A dual-pulse capability with independent settings per pulse handles coated steels where the first pulse removes zinc/galvanized coating and the second pulse forms the weld nugget.
How does the TE700 manage electrode wear and quality limits?
Four independent stepper functions with dedicated spot counters compensate for progressive electrode tip mushrooming — increasing weld current incrementally as the electrode wears to maintain consistent nugget size. The controller monitors RMS current (1.00–200.00 kA), electrode voltage (0.20–20.00 V), dynamic resistance (5–100% of reference), and power (0.20–600.00 kW) in real time, comparing each weld against programmable min/max limits. Welds falling outside limits trigger an alarm or stop the sequence. Optional electrode dressing management coordinates up to four simultaneous tip dressing operations, automatically resetting stepper counters after each dressing cycle. Real-time display of inverter thermal usage percentage helps prevent overheating in high-duty-cycle automated lines.
